Data Scientist – Product Analytics (Hybrid)
Location: New York, NY 10112 – 30 Rockefeller Plaza
Work Arrangement: Hybrid – 3 days onsite per week
Pay Rate: $86/hr on W2
Experience: 5–7 Years
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Data Scientist with a strong background in business-facing product analytics. The ideal candidate will combine strong technical skills in SQL, Python, statistics, experimentation, and machine learning with the ability to translate complex data into actionable business insights.
This is not a deep ML/AI engineering role. The position is focused on using data science, experimentation, and analytics to solve business problems and support product decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze large and complex datasets using SQL and Python to identify trends, opportunities, and actionable insights.
- Partner with product and business stakeholders to translate ambiguous business problems into structured analytical solutions.
- Design, execute, and interpret A/B tests and experiments, including control-group setup and efficacy measurement.
- Apply statistical methods and machine learning techniques to solve business and product-related problems.
- Query and extract data from large-scale/big-data environments; Spark/PySpark experience is highly desirable.
- Evaluate potential AI/LLM use cases and recommend where these capabilities can effectively address business needs.
- Present analytical findings and recommendations clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Independently manage analytical projects from problem definition through insights and recommendations.
Required Qualifications
- 5–7 years of Data Science experience, preferably with strong product analytics/business-facing analytics exposure.
- Advanced proficiency in SQL and Python.
- Strong hands-on experience with A/B testing, experimentation, control groups, and efficacy measurement.
- Strong knowledge of statistics, statistical analysis, and machine learning.
- Experience analyzing large and complex datasets.
- Understanding of practical AI/LLM applications for business problems.
- Strong critical-thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder-management skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Must be comfortable working 3 days per week onsite in New York City.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Spark/PySpark or other big-data environments.
- Experience with Tableau or similar BI/data visualization tools.
- Previous experience supporting financial products or financial services.
- Strong combination of business acumen and technical expertise.
