Job Description

Job DescriptionHumCap's client, a manufacturing company in Garland, is searching for a Test Engineer.
As a Test Engineer you will support the testing environment for company products throughout the product life cycle.

Essential Functions

  1. Assist in writing test specifications for new products based on customer requirements and expected product capabilities.
  2. Specify test methods and maintain detailed test results.
  3. Perform hands-on testing; coordinate in-house and third-party testing as appropriate.
  4. Collaborate with design engineers to support testing during product development.
  5. Coordinate testing of initial production units with internal teams and third parties.
  6. Assist in the development of test procedures and equipment to support production.
  7. Maintain a comprehensive library of product test results and certifications to support the sales department with RFQs and bid responses; update the library as needed.
  8. Stay knowledgeable of product functionality and performance to provide technical support during customer demonstrations and agency testing.
  9. Stay current with regulatory requirements in countries where products are sold.
  10. Develop test methods to characterize the performance of competitive products for benchmarking and sales/marketing comparison.
  11. Perform regression testing on software and firmware releases.
  12. Train, mentor, and support test technicians.
  13. Ensure operations comply with relevant laws, guidelines, and ISO requirements.
  14. Follow all safety policies, practices, and procedures; report unsafe activities to management or Human Resources.


Required Education and Experience

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Physics, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  2. Minimum of 7 years of experience in test engineering or a closely related discipline.


Special Skills & Qualifications

  1. Strong experience in systems testing and executing test programs.
  2. Ability to learn new products quickly and support test operation setup and launch.
  3. Solid understanding of test methodologies, tools, and relevant software.
  4. Proficiency in data analysis, statistical methods, and performance evaluation.
  5. Technical writing experience or training.
  6. Working knowledge of networking setup; familiarity with TCP/IP is a plus.
  7. Ability to comprehend technical and functional aspects of products to ensure clarity and precision.
  8. Strong ability to communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  9. Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and organizational abilities.
  10. Ability to manage multiple projects and work effectively in cross-functional teams.


Work Environment

  1. Indoor office and production environment with adequate lighting, ventilation, and moderate noise.
  2. May work near moving mechanical equipment.
  3. Occasional travel, both domestic and international.


Physical Demands
Moderate physical activity required for day-to-day technical tasks.

  1. Manual dexterity to handle tools and equipment.
  2. Ability to bend, stoop, squat, and crouch.
  3. Must be able to sit for extended periods.
  4. Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds, with or without assistance.
