Our client seeks a Java engineer to develop and enhance investment servicing applications. The role will focus on Java 21 services, Oracle SQL and stored procedures, and data integration. The team values clean code, reliable ETL, and collaboration with operations to support asset management workflows including positions, holdings, and pricing.
This is a contract to hire opportunity. Applicants must be willing and able to work on a w2 basis and convert to FTE following contract duration. Rate: $70.00 to $80.00/hr. w2
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain Java 21 services and JSP-based components supporting investment operations.
- Build and optimize Oracle SQL, PL/SQL, and stored procedures for high-volume data processing.
- Develop ETL workflows to integrate market data sources such as Bloomberg and ICE pricing.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to support asset management functions, including positions, holdings, tax lots, equities, and fixed income.
- Write maintainable scripts in Python or other scripting languages to automate operational tasks.
- Troubleshoot production issues and improve performance, reliability, and observability.
- Contribute to code reviews, testing, and deployment processes.
Experience Requirements:
- Strong Java development experience, preferably with Java 21.
- Hands-on SQL development with Oracle and stored procedures.
- Scripting experience. Python preferred. JavaScript acceptable.
- ETL design and implementation experience.
- Exposure to investment servicing, managed accounts, securities, equities, fixed income, holdings, positions, or tax lots is beneficial.
- Familiarity with Bloomberg or ICE pricing feeds is a plus.
- Perl experience is optional.
