Data Engineer – P&C Insurance industry experience

Hybrid, 3 days a week in NYC

- 5+ years of data and analytics engineering experience, including hands-on work with property and casualty insurance data (policy, premium, claims, losses, reserves)
- Strong SQL Server development: complex T-SQL, stored procedures, indexing, and query tuning against large transactional and reporting datasets
- Strong hands-on experience with Azure Synapse Analytics, Power BI Semantic Layer (or SSAS) and Azure Data Factory.
- Proficiency in Python/PySpark. Experience with DAX is a strong plus.
- Experience with Git, branch management, and CI/CD pipelines in a data environment.
- Deep understanding of P&C insurance industry data (e.g., policy administration, claims processing, underwriting, actuarial models, ceded reinsurance).
- Must be able to work independently and also partner with business SMEs to translate insurance rules into pipeline logic
