Job Type: Full-Time, Direct-Hire (Permanent placement on company payroll with full benefits; not a temporary job) Location: Pittsburgh, PA 15219 Schedule: Full-Time, Variable Shift (12-hour shifts; day, evening, night, or rotating coverage as needed) Work Arrangement: On-site New Hire Starting Base Pay: $19.40 – $22.09 per hour (Starting salary placement is determined by direct hospital support, concierge, customer service, or healthcare operations experience.) Future Earning Potential: Position salary range progresses up to $30.14 per hour over time through performance, tenure, and administrative/clinical career ladder advancement.
Mandatory Qualifications
- Education & Experience: High school diploma (or GED)
- Role Experience: Minimum of six (6) months of experience as a Patient & Family Concierge or equivalent healthcare or hospital unit support background.
- Core Competencies: Demonstrated ability to follow oral and written instructions, basic clerical proficiency, familiarity with medical terminology, and strong interpersonal communication skills.
- Essential Skills: Drive and compassion needed to provide exceptional patient/guest satisfaction, maintain patient confidentiality (HIPAA), and navigate fast-paced clinical environments.
How You'll Make an Impact
- Direct Patient Interaction & Concierge Support: Greet patients and families warmly, provide room orientation, perform hourly rounding, answer call lights under clinical direction, socialize with patients, and issue courtesy parking discounts or mobility equipment.
- Unit Operations & Destination Coordination: Provide wayfinding and escort assistance throughout the facility, manage tracking of patient belongings upon admission, handle visitor inquiries, and maintain department bulletin boards and informational resources.
- Environmental & Dietary Assistance: Clean and sanitize patient rooms/procedure areas, empty linen hampers, restock supplies, assemble and deliver patient meal trays according to dietary orders (HACCP standards), and maintain nourishment stations.
- Administrative & Clerical Support: Answer unit phones, build and maintain electronic/paper patient charts, update unit bedboards, schedule patient transports, coordinate procedures, and enter physician orders in a timely manner.
- Transport & Supply Management: Safely transport patients, lab specimens, and equipment throughout the hospital; organize unit supply rooms; restock PPE and med carts (no medications); and conduct refrigerator/temperature logs.
