Our client seeks an AI Governance Analyst to enable responsible, secure, and compliant adoption of AI technologies. The role will vet in-house and third-party AI solutions, improve acquisition workflows, and support cross-functional governance for risk, compliance, and agentic AI. The analyst will assess risks, document findings, and translate technical concepts into actionable guidance for varied stakeholders.

Rate: $60.00 to $50.00/hr. w2

Responsibilities

  • Lead and participate in working sessions to vet AI use cases against AI usage policies.
  • Conduct AI risk assessments using frameworks and tools to evaluate capabilities and risks, and document outcomes.
  • Balance ad hoc, time-sensitive AI vetting with ongoing governance and process initiatives.
  • Refine and scale intake, review, and vetting workflows for AI-enabled software acquisitions.
  • Collaborate with Sourcing, Solution Architecture, Cybersecurity, and Legal to embed AI governance into acquisition processes.
  • Identify process gaps and recommend improvements to strengthen governance and enable responsible innovation.
  • Serve as liaison across AI core, Cybersecurity, Legal, and Sourcing for cohesive execution of AI initiatives.
  • Support terminology alignment and contribute to defining AI concepts such as AI agents and agentic AI.
  • Develop and maintain governance documentation, including policies, standards, and ethical guidelines.
  • Provide guidance on governance posture, risk tolerance, and control expectations for AI initiatives.
  • Offer insight on governance artifacts such as model registries, model cards, and AI documentation standards.
  • Author and maintain vetting reports, risk assessments, decision summaries, and process documentation.
  • Translate complex AI and risk concepts into clear guidance for technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Communicate AI risks, compliance obligations, and next steps in a timely manner.
  • Support education and awareness on responsible AI use and governance expectations.

Experience Requirements

  • Experience in AI governance, risk management, compliance, or related disciplines.
  • Working knowledge of AI systems, model types, data dependencies, and lifecycle considerations.
  • Familiarity with recognized AI governance frameworks and standards such as the NIST AI RMF or similar.
  • Strong analytical skills to assess risk, synthesize findings, and recommend actions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication with experience producing clear documentation.
  • Ability to manage multiple workstreams, including planned initiatives and ad hoc AI vetting requests.
  • Proven collaboration across technical, legal, and business teams in a matrixed environment.
  • AIGP or similar AI governance-centric certifications (preferred).
