Fiber Optic Telecommunications Engineer, Technician; provides day to day operations and maintenance support for Cable Landing Station, subsea cables wet plant and terrestrial telecommunications network.
Key Responsibilities / Functions:
Troubleshoot and repair terrestrial and submarine DWDM fiber optic telecommunications systems. Monitor and maintain DC power systems, network management computers and associated peripherals. Perform routine maintenance per manufacturer’s recommendations on a variety of facility support equipment. Use standard telecommunications test equipment to isolate and repair problems across multiple networks. Maintain and update physical equipment inventory using the inventory database system. Install, test and terminate fiber jumpers and CAT5/6 cables.
