Job Description
Job DescriptionRole overview
We are hiring an Agile PMO Consultant to support large-scale programs across our portfolio. You will run the project and portfolio rhythm: keeping Jira accurate, preparing executives for decisions, and keeping teams on track against integrated program timelines.
Key responsibilities
Program management and agile delivery
- Build and maintain the integrated program plan against a timeline: milestones, critical path and cross-team dependencies.
- Run the program governance cadence, including program syncs, cross-team stand-ups, sprint reviews, and milestone readiness checkpoints.
- Track progress, risks, issues, and dependencies. Escalate early with a recommended path forward when milestones are at risk.
- Maintain program artifacts: integrated timeline, RAID log, resource and capacity views, and status reporting.
- Help teams apply agile practices consistently while staying aligned to fixed program dates, and suggest improvements where the process slows delivery.
Jira administration and reporting
- Own Jira tracking across teams: boards, epics, features, workflows, fields, and naming standards.
- Build and maintain dashboards, filters, and JQL queries that give leaders a reliable view of progress.
- Produce program metrics such as velocity, burn-up, flow, and progress against program milestones, and explain what they mean.
Executive engagement
- Prepare and facilitate meetings with senior client leaders, including steering committees, portfolio reviews, and leadership syncs.
- Turn complex delivery data into concise, executive-ready updates and presentations.
- Drive decisions: frame the options, capture outcomes, and follow through on action items.
Consulting
- Build trusted relationships with client stakeholders at every level.
- Spot problems before they are raised and take ownership of solving them.
- Contribute to firm initiatives, knowledge sharing and, where appropriate, new business opportunities.
Required qualifications
- 1–5 years of experience in project management, PMO, agile delivery, or management consulting.
- Strong program management fundamentals: integrated planning, milestone and critical-path tracking, dependency and risk management, status reporting.
- Hands-on experience working in an agile environment (Scrum and/or Kanban).
- Strong knowledge of SAFe and scaled agile concepts, with the judgment to apply them in a program run on a fixed, integrated timeline.
- Advanced Jira skills: board and workflow configuration, dashboards, filters and JQL.
- Confidence leading meetings and discussions with senior leaders and executives.
- Excellent written and verbal communication, with strong PowerPoint and Excel skills.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
Preferred qualifications
- A project management or agile certification, such as CAPM, PMP, PMI-ACP, CSM, PSM, or a SAFe certification (e.g. SAFe Agilist or SAFe Scrum Master) preferred but not required.
- Prior consulting or client-facing experience.
- Familiarity with Confluence or other collaboration tools that pair with Jira.
Who thrives here
You will succeed in this role if you:
- Bring polish and presence. You represent the firm with poise, professionalism, and attention to detail in every interaction and deliverable.
- Lead with initiative. You are a go-getter who acts before being asked, owns outcomes, and follows through.
- Thrive in consulting. You enjoy fast-paced, ambiguous work, adapt quickly to new stakeholders, and stay calm under pressure.
- Collaborate with warmth. You build trust with teams and executives alike, listen well, and communicate with tact.
