Job Description

About This Opportunity

Judit Inc. is hiring on behalf of one of our clients — a global aerospace and defense company that designs and builds advanced military ground vehicles and related technologies. This is a temporary, contract position: you'll be employed by Judit Inc. and work directly alongside our client's team.

The description below is our client's overview of the background, skills, and experience they're looking for. If you meet most — but not all — of these, we still want to hear from you. Your Judit recruiter will walk you through the day-to-day work, schedule, pay, and contract length before anything moves forward.

What you'll do

You'll lead and support engineering projects for an Advanced Reconnaissance Vehicle (ARV) program for the U.S. Marine Corps, covering both internal development initiatives and contract programs. Working with the engineering disciplines and program teams, you'll plan and run ARV projects to meet defined objectives within cost and schedule, lead a multidisciplinary team, provide technical guidance on ground vehicle development, and make sure engineering work meets customer and internal requirements. The client is hiring multiple project engineers across engineering disciplines.

About the program

The vehicle is built on a Modular Open Systems Approach (MOSA), based on the Ground Vehicle Operating System (GVOS) and using the Tactical Assault Kit Extended (TAK-X) framework for capability integration. It features full-spectrum reconnaissance and surveillance sensors, beyond-line-of-sight threat defeat, an advanced survivability suite, electronic warfare capabilities, amphibious and off-road mobility, and a Human System Interface (HSI) focus.

All Project Engineer roles

  • Work with Program Management to control schedule and budget according to customer Earned Value Management System (EVMS) requirements
  • Resolve schedule, resource, and technical conflicts
  • Lead multidisciplinary teams through complex technical problems and develop solutions
  • Work with functional managers to organize and delegate key tasks
  • Interact daily with program managers, planners, engineers, and technicians
  • Write statements of work and manage outside contractor performance
  • Serve as the technical interface between the engineering development team, Integrated Product Teams, and Integrated Supply Chain
  • Chair (or delegate) change control boards for your project or product
  • Develop discretionary funding plans and requests outlining program needs
  • Recommend critical risk-acceptance decisions to senior management
  • Develop cost and technical proposals and basis of estimates for new business
  • Prepare and present engineering work products at internal reviews and customer milestone reviews
  • Own Average Unit Manufacturing Cost (AUMC) for PPD vehicles and future LRIP and full-rate production

Vetronics/C5ISR Project Engineer (additional responsibilities)

  • Manage and coordinate all ARV Vetronics and C5ISR activities, serving as liaison across teams and stakeholders to meet objectives on time and within budget
  • Coordinate software, cybersecurity, networking, and systems design, development, integration, and test
  • Support the Chief Engineer in reducing technical risk and maturing Vetronics/C5ISR designs
  • Coordinate engineering support for vehicle builds, outfitting, test, and final delivery
  • Deliver associated technical artifacts, including Contract Data Requirements Lists (CDRLs)
  • Support all C5ISR, software, and cybersecurity customer Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) and Working Groups (WGs)
  • Coordinate and communicate with Integrated Supply Chain, Engineering, Program Management, and government customers on all Vetronics and C5ISR tasks, risks, and issues

What you'll bring

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related discipline
  • 8+ years of related experience
  • Ability to obtain a Secret clearance
  • Experience developing systems architectures and concepts of operations
  • Experience in program planning, control account management, and risk management
