Charlotte, NC | 12-Month Contract | Large Capital / Power Generation Projects
We are seeking a Senior Project Controls Regulatory & Compliance Lead to support major gas generation and large-scale EPC capital projects. This senior-level role will lead regulatory reporting and compliance activities while integrating project cost, schedule, forecasting, risk, change management, and performance data into regulatory filings and executive-level reporting.
IMPORTANT: This is NOT a finance, accounting, legal compliance, or general regulatory position. Candidates must have senior-level PROJECT CONTROLS experience supporting large capital/EPC projects, including cost, schedule, forecasting, risk, and change management.
This position requires U.S. citizenship.
What You'll Do
- Lead regulatory reporting, compliance activities, audits, filings, and information requests for major capital projects.
- Serve as the project controls subject matter expert supporting regulatory and executive reporting.
- Review and validate project cost, schedule, forecasts, contingency, risk, change management, and performance data.
- Integrate project controls information into regulatory filings, executive reports, presentations, and business communications.
- Coordinate across project controls, engineering, construction, finance, contracts, procurement, legal, and regulatory teams.
- Support responses to regulatory inquiries, prudency reviews, rate cases, audits, and compliance requests.
- Evaluate project performance trends and communicate key cost and schedule risks and opportunities.
- Develop executive summaries, presentations, briefing materials, and formal written responses.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Communications, Finance, Engineering, Project Management, Public Administration, or related field.
- 15+ years of related experience.
- Senior-level project controls experience on large capital/EPC projects.
- Strong experience with cost management, forecasting, budgeting, scheduling, EVM, risk, contingency, and change management.
- Exceptional written, verbal, presentation, and executive communication skills.
- Advanced Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, and SharePoint skills.
- U.S. citizenship required.
Highly Preferred
- Utility, power generation, natural gas, transmission, renewable energy, or similar large infrastructure experience.
- Project controls leadership on EPC projects exceeding $500M.
- Public utility commission filings, rate cases, prudency reviews, regulatory audits, or regulatory information requests.
- Primavera P6 and EcoSys experience.
- PMP, PMI, AACE, CAPM, PSP, CCP, or similar certification.
