Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Onsite IT Support Technician to provide hands-on technical support to employees at a manufacturing facility. The role will troubleshoot PC hardware and software, network connectivity, printers, mobile devices, phones, peripherals, and other IT equipment.
The ideal candidate should be customer-focused, proactive, technically strong, and comfortable working independently while coordinating with remote IT support teams and third-party vendors.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide desk-side and onsite IT support for end users and resolve hardware, software, and connectivity issues.
- Troubleshoot PCs, laptops, printers, mobile devices, Cisco phones, peripherals, and other IT equipment.
- Install, configure, deploy, and upgrade computer hardware and software.
- Support user accounts, shared accounts, MFA, Wi-Fi, email, and mobile device setup.
- Troubleshoot and assist with LAN connections, network cabling, and connectivity issues.
- Support IT requirements for factory PCs, production equipment, and newly integrated devices.
- Coordinate with internal IT teams and vendors to resolve complex technical issues.
- Document incidents, troubleshooting steps, resolutions, and potential recurring problems.
- Provide basic technical training and guidance to end users.
- Manage onsite IT inventory, equipment, accessories, and CMDB updates.
- Coordinate shipment and movement of IT equipment between locations.
- Support meeting rooms, collaboration areas, and shared technology spaces.
- Host and coordinate third-party technicians when required.
- Perform regular checks of computer rooms, including temperature, air conditioning, cabling, and equipment functionality.
- Identify and report risks that could impact IT service quality.
- Follow established IT governance, escalation procedures, SOPs, runbooks, and knowledge articles.
Required Qualifications
- Associate Degree or technical school qualification with relevant experience.
- Formal IT qualification or apprenticeship in Information Technology.
- 3–4+ years of professional IT support experience.
- Strong hands-on experience with desktop/desk-side support.
- Experience troubleshooting PC hardware, software, LAN/network connectivity, printers, phones, and peripherals.
- Strong English communication skills.
- Ability to work independently with general supervision.
- Proactive, self-motivated, and solution-oriented approach.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively with multiple IT teams, vendors, and end users.
Work Environment
- 100% onsite at the facility.
- Frequent interaction with employees and IT teams.
- Requires physical intervention with IT equipment, cabling, peripherals, and devices.
- Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and handling multiple support requests.
