Job Description
The Technician Helper supports the installation of low-voltage cabling systems on commercial and industrial job sites. This role focuses on pulling and running cable through ceilings, organizing materials, and assisting with installation tasks using hand tools. It is well suited for motivated, entry-level candidates who are eager to learn a skilled trade and grow within the low-voltage industry.
Responsibilities
- Pull cable and run cable through ceiling tiles and other building structures in a safe and efficient manner.
- Assist with installing low-voltage cabling systems for applications such as fire alarm, data, and other building systems.
- Lift, carry, and move materials and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds throughout the workday.
- Organize, stage, and move materials on job sites to support efficient project execution.
- Use hand tools and basic construction tools to complete cabling, installation, and general labor tasks.
- Support cable pulling, wire routing, and data cable installation activities as directed by senior technicians.
- Assist with termination, basic testing, and verification of low-voltage cabling under supervision.
- Follow directions from project leads and technicians to ensure work meets quality and safety standards.
- Read and follow spreadsheets and documentation, especially on data center projects, to ensure accurate installation and tracking.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area on commercial construction sites and in existing facilities.
- Adhere to all safety protocols, including working only on vacant sites and non-live wiring as directed.
- Remain flexible and available for overtime as needed to meet project schedules.
- Travel and commute to various job sites across the greater Nashville area, including locations such as Nashville, Smyrna, Murfreesboro, Franklin, Madison, and surrounding areas.
- Report to the office on the first day and then proceed directly to assigned job sites for ongoing work.
- Demonstrate professionalism, attention to detail, and reliability, particularly on data center projects where accuracy is critical.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Nashville, TN.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.50 - $21.50/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
