Myers EPS is seeking a detail-oriented and technically skilled Project Engineer - BESS to join The Myers Engineering team. The Project Engineer - BESS performs a dual role of technical project management and an individual design engineering design resource for new and existing BESS product lines to ensure project schedule, project cost, and product cost targets are achieved. A key part of this role is the responsibility for cross-functional project leadership.
Project Engineer Job Responsibilities:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following.
- Implement and continuously improve the Phase-Gate Product Development Process for new product development
- Provide leadership in estimating resource needs, schedules with key milestones, product cost, and project cost
- Work closely with Product Management to understand and refine product requirements
- Develop presentations and communicate project status to executive leadership
- Lead continuous improvement in estimating project/product cost and schedule within Phase-Gate process
- Participate in cross-functional engineering teams to meet product and company objectives for the BESS products. Define project milestones and report progress from concept to production.
- Hands-on design and development of complex electro-mechanical assemblies and Bills of Materials in support of product development efforts.
- Coordinate all engineering tasks, agency regulations, testing and mitigations as necessary, design reviews, support prototype, Alpha/Beta builds and testing for all phases of development.
- Ability to summarize and provide concise status reports of project progress. Ability to define issues encountered during development and provide options and recommendations for resolution.
- Work with internal resources and outside vendors and partners in support of product development.
- Collaborate with Product Management, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Marketing, Sales, Finance, and Service.
- Proficient Knowledge in:
- DC/DC, AC/DC, and DC/AC conversion design and analysis
- Schematic and PCB design
- Analog and Digital Circuit Designs
- Mechanical design
Education and/or Experience:
- Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution
- A minimum one year of work experience as a Project Engineer or relevant experience in BESS or similar engineering field.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, Power Point, Project (or equivalent).
