Desktop Support Technician (Windows 10/11)

Location: Windsor Locks, CT

Onsite – Monday-Friday 8am-5pm

About the Opportunity

We are seeking a customer-focused Desktop Support Technician to join a growing enterprise IT support team. This role is responsible for providing hands-on deskside support, troubleshooting hardware and software issues, deploying new equipment, supporting mobile devices, and delivering an exceptional end-user experience.

Responsibilities

  • Provide onsite deskside support for Windows 10 and Windows 11 systems
  • Diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues on desktops, laptops, and peripherals
  • Perform PC installations, moves, adds, and changes (IMAC activities)
  • Image, configure, deploy, and replace workstation devices
  • Support Microsoft Office 365 applications including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Troubleshoot printing, connectivity, and peripheral device issues
  • Support and configure iOS and Android mobile devices
  • Assist users with email, VPN, wireless networking, and application-related issues
  • Maintain accurate documentation and ticket updates within IT service management tools
  • Perform asset management activities including tagging, inventory tracking, recovery, and disposal
  • Provide walk-up technical support and maintain high levels of customer satisfaction
  • Follow established IT support processes and best practices

Required Qualifications

  • 2+ years of desktop or deskside support experience in a corporate environment
  • Experience supporting Windows 10 and/or Windows 11
  • Strong hardware troubleshooting and break/fix experience
  • Experience imaging and deploying desktop and laptop systems
  • Experience supporting Microsoft Office 365 applications
  • Ability to troubleshoot basic networking issues, including VPN, wireless connectivity, and network adapters
  • Experience supporting mobile devices including iPhone and Android
  • Experience working with IT ticketing systems
  • Strong communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently while also collaborating within a team environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Enterprise-level desktop support experience
  • Experience with asset management and inventory control
  • Tech Bar or walk-up support experience
  • Familiarity with IT service management practices

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Windsor Locks, CT.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $20.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
