Job Title: Farm Program Manager
West Maui YMCA Resource Center
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Reports to: West Side Resource Director
Salary Range: $22.50 an hour
POSITION SUMMARY:
The primary purpose of this position is to manage and maintain a hydroponic farming system, ensuring its safe, efficient, and productive operation. This role also includes the development and implementation of a limited scale aina and aquaponic farming practice. The position supports sustainable agriculture efforts through hands-on system oversight, basic infrastructure upkeep, and innovation in alternative food production methods.
The role also provides leadership in curriculum development, workforce training, food distribution, and system maintenance.
Additional responsibilities include providing as-needed management and support to the YMCA Westside Resource Center, located at the same address (up to 10 hours weekly). This is a 25-hour per week position, with the possibility of 40 hours with the right hire.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Oversee all aspects of crop production lifecycle. Monitor environmental controls, crop schedules, seeding, transplanting, harvesting and cleaning/sanitizing protocols.
2. Perform minor repairs on farm machinery, equipment, and appliances.
3. Detect and report major maintenance repairs.
4. Conduct performance assessments of the farms and recommend improvements.
5. Forecast, allocate, and supervise the financial and physical resources of farm management. 6. Ensure security and emergency preparedness procedures are implemented properly
7. Ensure the facilities are operated, cleaned, and maintained according to company policy and procedures.
8. Conduct and document regular inspections of the farm.
9. Communicate workplace safety precautions and guidance on maintaining equipment to employees, program participants, and volunteers.
10.Create and provide training and professional development opportunities.
11.Complete timely and thorough documentation and prepare various and regular monthly, quarterly, and annual reports.
12.Collaborate with program partners and provider agencies.
13.Serve as community liaison, promote agency programs; develop and nurture referral sources; attend meetings and other appropriate functions with key community contacts and committees. 14.Ensure compliance with all accreditation standards and implementation of policy
15.Participate in staff meetings, roundtables, and virtual meetings
16.Ensures compliance with contract requirements.
17.Attend required meetings and training to maintain professional knowledge, certifications, and/or to meet licensing requirements.
18. Provide management support to the Westside Resource Center, including opening/closing the facility, Director on Duty, or other duties as designated by the Program Director.
SUPERVISION ADMINISTERED:
· This position typically requires supervision of assigned program staff and/or participants
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor’s degree in agriculture or related field preferred, or relevant experience in farming management or agricultural programming.
• Managerial experience preferred, preferably with youth or non-profit setting. •Experience with Hawaiian culture, language, and community is preferred.
• Fiscal competence with regards to budgets and proposals.
• Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate and work in partnerships, internally and externally.
• Program management skills in the non-profit sector.
• Effective management, administrative, organizational, verbal and written communication.
• Proficient in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Supervisory experience is strongly preferred.
