Robert Half is looking for a Process Engineer to strengthen manufacturing performance with a manufacturing company in Janesville, WI. This position focuses on using operational data, engineering methods, and continuous improvement practices to raise productivity, streamline workflows, and reduce inefficiencies in a food manufacturing setting. The role will partner with plant teams to advance safety, quality, sanitation, delivery, and cost goals through measurable process improvements.


Responsibilities:

• Analyze production, labor, and equipment data to identify trends, uncover performance gaps, and recommend practical improvements.

• Lead improvement initiatives that simplify manufacturing processes, increase throughput, and reduce material or time-related waste.

• Establish and monitor key performance indicators that support plant objectives across safety, quality, output, sanitation, and cost control.

• Evaluate workflow design, staffing utilization, and production methods to improve labor effectiveness and operational efficiency.

• Apply Lean Manufacturing and industrial engineering techniques to strengthen daily operations and support sustainable gains.

• Partner with cross-functional teams to implement process changes, measure results, and drive accountability for improvement efforts.

• Prepare reporting and performance summaries that translate operational data into actionable recommendations for plant leadership.

• Support projects that improve equipment effectiveness, optimize line performance, and enhance compliance within a food manufacturing environment.

• At least 3 years of experience in continuous improvement, industrial engineering, production engineering, or a related manufacturing-focused role.

• Bachelor's Degree in food science, Food Technology, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related discipline.

• Background in manufacturing environments with hands-on responsibility for process optimization and performance improvement.

• Strong ability to analyze operational data, develop queries, and turn findings into measurable process changes.

• Hands-on experience in food processing and/or packaging, with a solid understanding of manufacturing processes and equipment operation.

• Proven application of structured problem-solving and improvement tools (e.g., Six Sigma, Kaizen, DOE).

• Advanced knowledge of statistical tools and experimental design.

• Strong working knowledge of food manufacturing practices, including GMPs, HACCP, regulatory guidelines, and quality systems

• Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.

• Demonstrated success leading process improvement projects and implementing operational changes across production teams.

• Ability to evaluate workflows, labor performance, and business processes with a focus on efficiency and results.
