Position Summary
The Senior Project Manager leads assigned projects from final design through high-volume production, delivery, and ongoing field support, ensuring quality standards, customer requirements, and delivery timelines are met. This role partners with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Operations to improve production workflows, guide design for manufacturability, integrate product revisions, and resolve technical issues and risks that affect production. The Senior Project Manager also establishes scalable project and service processes, maintains accurate documentation, and provides clear, data-driven communication to internal teams and customers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Partner with Manufacturing and Operations to continue the development and refine the production ecosystem required to maintain new orders of the assigned project.
- Identify bottlenecks in the current workflow and implement scalable project management structures to move product through the production process faster without the sacrifice of quality.
- Manage the transition of the product from the final design stages into high-volume production and eventual delivery.
- Lead the “Design for Manufacturability” (DFM) feedback loop, ensuring that engineering revisions are practical for the production line.
- Oversee technical product revisions, ensuring that updates are integrated into the build process without stalling production momentum.
- Act as the primary technical point of contact for resolving production-stalling issues on the floor.
- Coordinate the logistics of getting finished products into the field, ensuring all customer-specific requirements are met.
- Establish the service and support framework for the assigned project, ensuring that field data is captured and used to improve future production runs.
- Provide transparent, data-driven updates to internal teams and external customers regarding production status and delivery timelines.
- Identify risks in the supply chain or production flow early and drive the cross-functional solutions needed to keep the line moving.
- Ensure all project documentation, engineering changes, and quality certifications are meticulously maintained as the assigned product line evolves.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree, preferably in Engineering or related technical fields
- PMP Certification
The right candidate for this role will have:
- Builder Mentality: Experience building or significantly improving manufacturing processes for new products. You thrive in environments where you need to create the roadmap while driving the car.
- Proven Winning Track Record: You have successfully managed high-value product lines that have successfully moved into production. We are looking for someone who has "been there, done that" with complex machinery or vehicles.
- Project Mastery: Expert-level proficiency in project management tools and methodologies, with a focus on hardware and manufacturing lifecycles.
- Grit & Accountability: A high sense of urgency and the ability to maintain composure while managing a high-volume backlog and shifting priorities.
