Travel: 80–100% onsite
Employment Type: Full-Time ContractOverviewWe are seeking hands-on Industrial Cybersecurity Consultants to support critical infrastructure and operational technology environments across Virginia. This is a highly field-based role designed for candidates who thrive in real-world industrial settings, working directly with control systems, networks, and cybersecurity infrastructure.The team is prioritizing candidates with strong hands-on experience in OT/ICS environments, including PLC systems, industrial networking, and cybersecurity remediation activities. This is not a desk-based or advisory role—this position requires active onsite execution, troubleshooting, and direct involvement in securing live operational environments.Key Responsibilities
- Perform hands-on vulnerability assessments and remediation activities, including supporting patching efforts and validating security controls across IT and OT environments
- Conduct on-site validation of industrial control systems, including PLCs, SCADA systems, and field network infrastructure
- Execute penetration testing and security assessments across IT and OT environments
- Support network security implementation and troubleshooting, including firewall configurations, access controls, and logging mechanisms
- Identify security risks and work directly with engineering and operations teams to remediate vulnerabilities in live environments
- Perform network and system analysis, including traffic monitoring and control system validation
- Conduct root cause analysis and provide recommendations for improving system security posture
- Develop and maintain documentation related to system configurations, security findings, and remediation efforts
Required Qualifications
- U.S. Citizenship is required (non-negotiable)
- Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field
- Minimum 3+ years of relevant cybersecurity experience
- Hands-on experience with OT/ICS environments (required)
- Experience with vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, or security validation
- Strong understanding of networking, firewalls, access control, and system security principles
- Experience working in field environments (not strictly remote or corporate settings)
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and communication skills
Preferred / Standout Experience
- PLC or SCADA system experience
- Industrial control system security (utilities, manufacturing, energy, etc.)
- Experience supporting patching, system hardening, and remediation efforts in operational environments
- Familiarity with cybersecurity frameworks such as NIST CSF or RMF
- Experience working with both modern and legacy industrial systems
Work Environment & Travel
- 80–100% travel required within Virginia
- Work will involve frequent movement between sites (daily or weekly based on project needs)
- Assignments may vary from short-duration visits to longer multi-day site engagements
- Work performed in industrial environments (plants, substations, operational facilities)
- Use of personal vehicle or rental car required

Background Check RequirementSelected candidates will be required to complete both a standard background check (including MVR) and an additional client-specific background screening.This process can take 6 weeks to 2–3 months, and candidates cannot begin work or onboarding activities until fully cleared.
