Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled M365 Migration Architect to support requirements gathering, migration strategy and design, execution, governance, and user adoption initiatives across the Microsoft 365 platform.

The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience leading Microsoft 365 tenant-to-tenant and domain migration projects, along with the ability to provide post-migration support to users and resolve complex migration-related issues.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as a subject matter expert for Microsoft 365 migrations, particularly tenant-to-tenant and domain-to-domain migrations.
  • Gather business and technical requirements and translate them into effective migration strategies.
  • Design and execute migration plans while minimizing business disruption.
  • Develop migration approaches for secure content handling, metadata mapping, identity synchronization, and user transitions.
  • Utilize industry-standard migration tools such as Quest, Dell, or BitTitan for device and user migrations.
  • Perform pre-migration analysis, content inventory, and environment assessments.
  • Determine appropriate migration profiles based on assessment findings and project requirements.
  • Follow established FAQs, Quick Reference Guides (QRGs), migration procedures, and project instructions.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve migration failures, synchronization issues, permission conflicts, and user-access problems.
  • Provide post-migration support to users and troubleshoot Microsoft 365 issues.
  • Maintain and update migration documentation, technical instructions, FAQs, and post-migration support materials.
  • Lead client-facing workshops, technical design sessions, status meetings, and escalation discussions.
  • Communicate migration progress, risks, issues, dependencies, and required actions to stakeholders.
  • Support transition activities and knowledge transfer to steady-state support teams.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience leading Microsoft 365 tenant migrations and/or providing client support services.
  • Proven experience executing large-scale Microsoft 365 migration projects.
  • Strong understanding of Microsoft 365 architecture and migration processes.
  • Experience with identity and authentication, including Azure Active Directory / Microsoft Entra ID.
  • Experience with user mapping and group synchronization.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills involving migration errors, synchronization issues, permissions, and authentication.
  • Experience working directly with clients and business stakeholders.
  • Strong documentation, communication, and presentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Microsoft certifications such as:
    • MS-102 – Microsoft 365 Administrator
    • MS-700
    • MS-300 or equivalent Microsoft 365 certification
  • Experience with tenant-to-tenant migrations.
  • Experience with domain re-homing and domain transition activities.
  • Experience with migration tools such as Quest, Dell, or BitTitan.
  • Experience developing user adoption strategies.
  • Knowledge of change management practices.
  • Experience delivering user training and migration communications.
  • Experience transitioning completed migration environments to steady-state support teams.
  • Experience conducting knowledge-transfer sessions for client or managed-service teams.
