Job Description
Cullerton Group has a new opportunity for a Design Engineer 2. The work will be done onsite in Lafayette, IN. This is a long-term position that can lead to permanent employment with our client. Compensation is up to $36.75/hour + full benefits (vision, dental, health insurance, 401k, and holiday pay).
Job Summary
The Design Engineer 2 will support maintenance and continuous improvement of large engine platforms, focusing on system integration and product support. This role involves root cause analysis, corrective action implementation, and managing engineering changes from release through production. The engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve issues, improve product quality, and drive cost reduction initiatives. This position provides valuable exposure to complex engine systems and opportunities for career growth.
Key Responsibilities
• Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for product and system issues
• Manage engineering change packages from release through production implementation
• Support factory operations and resolve build and quality issues (BIQ)
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including manufacturing, supply chain, and quality
• Lead or support continuous process improvement (CPI) initiatives and cost reduction efforts
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field
• Approximately 2+ years of experience (internships accepted)
• Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize effectively
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
• Internship or experience in engineering environments
• Experience with engine systems, component design, or product development
• Exposure to CPI (Continuous Process Improvement) or NPI (New Product Introduction) projects
• Experience working in cross-functional engineering teams
