Job Overview

As a Senior Database Analyst, you will serve as a senior database professional responsible for managing enterprise database environments that support critical business and operational requirements. You will lead efforts to ensure database availability, security, performance, and scalability while supporting modernization initiatives, system integrations, and mission-focused technology solutions.

This position offers the opportunity to work with complex database environments, influence technology decisions, and provide technical leadership across a variety of high-impact programs.

What You'll Do

  • Administer, maintain, and optimize enterprise database environments
  • Design, implement, and support database architectures and solutions
  • Monitor database performance and recommend improvements to enhance efficiency, reliability, and scalability
  • Develop and implement database security measures, access controls, and data protection strategies
  • Plan and execute database backup, recovery, and disaster recovery activities
  • Analyze and resolve complex database performance, availability, and operational issues
  • Support database upgrades, migrations, integrations, and modernization efforts
  • Develop and maintain database standards, procedures, and technical documentation
  • Coordinate with software developers, engineers, system administrators, and stakeholders to support operational requirements
  • Evaluate emerging database technologies and recommend improvements or enhancements
  • Ensure database environments comply with organizational, contractual, and regulatory requirements
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior database professionals

What You Bring

Required Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or a related field
  • Ten (10) years of experience in database administration, database management, data administration, or a related information technology field
  • Strong knowledge of database administration principles, technologies, and best practices
  • Knowledge of database architecture, design, performance optimization, and lifecycle management
  • Knowledge of database security, backup, recovery, and disaster recovery processes
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex database issues
  • Ability to analyze system requirements and implement effective database solutions
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to communicate technical information effectively to technical and non-technical audiences
  • Ability to work independently and lead technical efforts
  • Proficiency with database management tools and related technologies
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance if required

Preferred Experience

  • Advanced coursework or specialized training in database administration, information systems, cloud technologies, or related disciplines
  • Experience supporting Department of Defense or Federal Government programs
  • Experience managing enterprise-scale database environments
  • Experience leading database migration, consolidation, or modernization projects
  • Experience supporting high-availability database architectures and disaster recovery solutions
  • Experience mentoring technical staff or leading database teams
