Responsibilities

We are seeking a Project Engineer to support the planning and execution of geotechnical, environmental, and civil construction projects.

This is a highly field-oriented engineering position, with approximately 20% office work and 80% field work.

The role requires frequent travel to project sites and the ability to work outdoors year-round in varying weather conditions.

The Project Engineer will work closely with project managers, field crews, contractors, engineers, and clients to support project execution, quality control, scheduling, documentation, and technical problem-solving.

Support project planning, coordination, and execution.

Assist with project submittals, technical documentation, and reporting.

Monitor field activities and ensure work is performed according to project requirements.

Perform field inspections, quality control activities, testing, and data collection.

Analyze field data and assist with resolving technical issues.

Coordinate project schedules, resources, and day-to-day field activities.

Assist with cost estimating, project tracking, and budget-related activities.

Collaborate with project managers, field crews, contractors, and clients to maintain project progress.

Maintain accurate project documentation and reports.

Ensure construction activities comply with design requirements and applicable safety standards.

Support environmental, geotechnical, and civil construction activities as needed.
Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Geology, Environmental Science, or a related engineering/science discipline.

Strong engineering, project coordination, planning, and organizational skills.

Effective written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams and clients.

Familiarity with AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, and project scheduling software is preferred.

Ability to perform field inspections and work safely in outdoor construction environments.

Internship or professional experience in construction, engineering, environmental, or geotechnical projects is beneficial.

EIT certification or progress toward professional licensure is a plus.

Environmental or geotechnical experience is preferred but not required.
Work Environment & Travel
-
Approximately 80% field-based / 20% office-based.
-
Extensive travel to project sites throughout the United States is required.
-
Must be comfortable working outdoors throughout the year, including hot, cold, and challenging field conditions.

Travel and lodging expenses are covered.
-
$45/day per diem is provided while traveling.
-
Company-paid travel home is provided approximately every 2.5 weeks.
