Java Tech Lead Location: Omaha, NE Experience: 15+ Years Employment Type: Contract

Responsibilities

\n

\n
• Lead the design, development, and implementation of enterprise-grade Java applications.

\n

• Provide technical leadership, guidance, and mentorship to development teams.

\n

• Design and develop scalable, high-performing microservices using Java and Spring Boot.

\n

• Collaborate with architects, product owners, business analysts, and business stakeholders to deliver robust solutions.

\n

• Conduct code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards, security practices, and software development best practices.

\n

• Drive application performance tuning, troubleshooting, and production support activities.

\n

• Participate in architecture reviews, technical discussions, and strategic decision-making.

\n

• Manage sprint commitments and actively contribute to Agile/Scrum ceremonies.

\n

• Support end-to-end software delivery, including design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance.

\n

\n

Required Skills

\n

\n
• 15+ years of overall experience in software development with strong expertise in Java 8/11/17 and Core Java.

\n

• Deep hands-on experience with Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Data JPA, Hibernate, and related frameworks.

\n

• Strong experience designing and implementing Microservices Architecture and RESTful APIs.

\n

• Proficiency in SQL and NoSQL databases, including Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and MongoDB.

\n

• Experience with messaging and streaming platforms such as Kafka and RabbitMQ.

\n

• Strong cloud experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP.

\n

• Hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, container orchestration, and CI/CD pipelines.

\n

• Expertise with development tools including Git, Maven, Jenkins, SonarQube, and version control systems.

\n

• Strong understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP), Design Patterns, System Design, and Application Architecture.

\n

• Experience in application modernization and cloud-native development.

\n

Preferred Skills

\n

\n

\n
• Experience with Event-Driven Architecture and distributed systems.

\n

• Exposure to Terraform, OpenShift, Kubernetes, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC).

\n

• Knowledge of security frameworks and standards including OAuth2, JWT, Spring Security, and API security.

\n

• Proven experience leading and managing teams of 5-10+ developers.

\n

• Experience working with large-scale enterprise applications in highly regulated environments.

\n

• Strong client-facing communication and stakeholder management skills.
