NextStep Recruiting has partnered with an innovative, data-driven organization to find a Senior Data Engineer to join their growing team! This role will play a pivotal part in designing, building, and scaling the data infrastructure that powers business operations and strategic insights. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership, hands-on data engineering experience, and a passion for building reliable, scalable systems that deliver real business value.
Required:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in data architecture, data pipeline development, or related fields.
- Expert-level proficiency in Python and SQL.
- Experience designing, building, and maintaining secure, scalable data pipelines in Azure (Data Factory, Data Lake, Databricks, Event Hubs).
- Proven background in data warehousing, dimensional modeling, and database design.
- Strong understanding of ETL/ELT processes, API-based integrations, and BI optimization (Power BI).
- Hands-on experience with DevOps tools such as Git and CI/CD for data workflow deployment.
- Excellent communication, documentation, and team leadership skills.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities in complex data environments.
Preferred:
- Microsoft DP-203 certification.
- 3+ years managing or mentoring data engineering teams.
- Experience with data migrations and transformations across enterprise systems.
- Background in Agile/DevOps environments with CI/CD practices.
- Familiarity with data governance and quality tools such as Azure Purview.
- Strong understanding of data lineage, metadata management, and anomaly detection frameworks.
