Contract Python / Full Stack Developer
MUST be local to New York City

Hands-on, backend-focused software engineering role supporting, maintaining, and enhancing an established scheduling and reporting tool. The position centers on heavy Python backend development, system integration, data processing, and lightweight UI components.
Tech Stack & Domain Knowledge
- Backend & Processing: Python, Pandas, SQL, Relational & Time-Series Databases.
- Domain Knowledge: Equities (or similar capital markets exposure) is highly desired.
- Scheduling & Systems: Job scheduling tools (e.g., Tidal/Cron), Batch Processing, Logging & Observability.
- Integrations & Tooling: REST/GraphQL APIs, Market Data Feeds, pytest, Git, CI/CD, Linux/Windows.
- Frontend/UI: Light HTML/CSS, Python web frameworks (FastAPI, Flask, Streamlit, Quart).
Key Responsibilities
- Enhance, refactor, and maintain core Python backend services powering an existing reporting and batch scheduling system.
- Troubleshoot and optimize scheduled jobs, batch runs, data pipelines, and reporting outputs.
- Build and maintain integrations, data-access components, and API interfaces with external/internal financial feeds.
- Maintain basic, user-facing Web UI components for operational monitoring, reporting initiation, and exception handling.
- Provide production support, failure diagnostics, automated unit testing, and deployment updates.
