Location: Fort Eustis, Virginia – Fully Onsite

Position Overview

The Federal Solution Architect will provide operational and administrative support for Dell Unity storage infrastructure in a secure enterprise environment. This role focuses on day-to-day storage administration, incident troubleshooting, change management, system monitoring, and continuous service improvement.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience administering Dell Unity storage platforms and supporting core storage operations. Familiarity with Dell VxRail and hyper-converged infrastructure is preferred.

Key Responsibilities Storage Administration

  • Monitor, review, and manage Dell Unity storage infrastructure.
  • Perform routine storage administration and operational maintenance.
  • Manage user requests and storage-service requirements.
  • Review system logs, alerts, and performance information.
  • Generate regular operational and infrastructure reports.
  • Support storage provisioning, configuration, and capacity management.
  • Assist with host and network configuration activities related to storage services.

Incident and Problem Management

  • Isolate, troubleshoot, and resolve storage-related incidents.
  • Coordinate service incidents with internal teams and technology vendors.
  • Open and manage vendor service requests when required.
  • Participate in root-cause analysis and corrective-action reviews.
  • Identify recurring issues and recommend preventive measures.

Change and Lifecycle Management

  • Assist with software, firmware, and storage-platform updates.
  • Implement approved change-management requests.
  • Support migration activities and monitor migration progress.
  • Evaluate infrastructure changes for operational impact.
  • Maintain accurate records of configuration changes and maintenance activities.

Documentation and Knowledge Transfer

  • Develop and update storage administration procedures, runbooks, and standard operating procedures.
  • Assist with solution documentation, policies, and operational guidelines.
  • Conduct knowledge-transfer sessions for customer technical staff.
  • Share best practices related to storage administration and operations.
  • Help address customer skills and resource gaps through mentoring and technical guidance.

Continuous Service Improvement

  • Recommend procedural changes that improve operational efficiency and reliability.
  • Provide performance-tuning and capacity-management recommendations.
  • Review existing incident, capacity, performance, change, user, and backup-management processes.
  • Recommend product enhancements, upgrades, and lifecycle improvements.
  • Support implementation and use of Dell system-management tools.

Required Qualifications

  • U.S. citizenship required.
  • Experience administering Dell Unity storage systems.
  • Strong understanding of enterprise storage administration and core storage operations.
  • Experience with storage monitoring, provisioning, capacity management, and troubleshooting.
  • Knowledge of storage-related host, network, and connectivity configurations.
  • Experience with incident, problem, and change-management processes.
  • Ability to review logs, diagnose issues, and coordinate technical resolutions.
  • Experience creating and maintaining technical documentation and operational runbooks.
  • Strong communication, analytical, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently in an onsite, mission-focused environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience administering Dell VxRail or other hyper-converged infrastructure platforms.
  • Knowledge of Dell EMC storage and infrastructure management tools.
  • Experience supporting storage migrations and infrastructure transitions.
  • Familiarity with backup and recovery policies and enterprise data-protection environments.
  • Experience working in federal, defense, or other regulated IT environments.
  • Knowledge of storage performance optimization and lifecycle-management practices.
