Position Overview
\n
We are seeking an experienced Emerging Technology Systems Engineer to support a Government Program Management Office in identifying, evaluating, piloting, and potentially implementing emerging technologies.
\n
\n
In this role, you will help government leaders identify promising technologies, determine whether they solve real mission and enterprise problems, and move successful capabilities from research and experimentation toward acquisition and implementation.
\n
\n
This position sits at the intersection of systems engineering, emerging technology, acquisition, and program management. The ideal candidate is technically credible, comfortable working through ambiguous problems, able to translate mission needs into actionable requirements, and capable of providing objective recommendations to senior Government decision-makers.
\n
\n
Key Responsibilities:
\n
· Identify emerging technologies and capabilities that could address Government mission, enterprise, and operational challenges through technical research, market analysis, industry engagement, and collaboration with small and nontraditional businesses.
\n
· Work with Government stakeholders, end users, and technical SMEs to translate complex or ambiguous mission needs into clearly defined requirements, use cases, success criteria, and evaluation measures.
\n
· Conduct technical studies, market research, alternatives analyses, and trade studies to evaluate prospective technologies and approaches.
\n
· Assess technologies for technical maturity, mission applicability, architecture and integration impacts, cybersecurity considerations, scalability, cost, schedule, and implementation risk.
\n
· Design and oversee R&D activities, prototypes, proofs of concept, and pilots, including objectives, scope, test plans, evaluation criteria, schedules, resources, and decision gates.
\n
· Analyze pilot and study results and develop objective recommendations regarding whether technologies should be discontinued, further evaluated, acquired, transitioned, or implemented at scale.
\n
· Develop acquisition and contracting documentation, including Statements of Work (SOWs), Statements of Objectives (SOOs), Performance Work Statements (PWSs), market research, technical requirements, evaluation criteria, cost estimates, and other documentation supporting contract actions.
\n
· Support acquisition strategy development, technical evaluations, vendor assessments, proposal reviews, and contractor performance oversight.
\n
· Develop and manage project plans, budgets, schedules, milestones, dependencies, risks, and deliverables across multiple concurrent technology initiatives.
\n
· Engage technology vendors, small businesses, nontraditional contractors, Government organizations, and other industry partners to identify and assess innovative capabilities.
\n
· Coordinate across engineering, cybersecurity, acquisition, financial, mission, and operational stakeholders to advance technology initiatives and resolve technical and programmatic issues.
\n
· Develop executive-level decision briefs, technical recommendations, roadmaps, status reports, and other products for senior Government officials.
\n
· Present complex technical and programmatic information in a clear, concise manner that enables informed Government decisions.
\n
· Support the transition of successful technologies from experimentation into acquisition, integration, implementation, and operational use.
\n

Required Qualifications
\n
· Bachelors and twelve (12) years or more experience or, Masters and ten (10) years or more experience, or PhD and six (6) years or more experience in a technical field.
\n
· Experience working with IC/DoD space communities.
\n
· Excellent interpersonal, leadership, team building, and problem-solving skills with a demonstrated ability to be effective in ta Government/contractor team environment.
\n
· Strong written and verbal communication skills.
\n
· Ability to solve complex challenges with minimal oversight.
\n
· Experience synthesizing technical information for various audiences (external stakeholders, senior leadership, group leadership, SMEs).
\n
· Ability to collaborate with numerous stakeholders and partners throughout the DoD/IC.
\n
· Must possess an active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph – No exceptions
\n
· US Citizen.
\n
\n
Target salary range; $160,000 - $190,000 annually. The salary offered will be based on factors including experience, education, certifications, skills, security clearance level, contract requirements, and overall qualifications.
