We're working with a well-established engineering and infrastructure business seeking a Project Development Team Lead to oversee a multidisciplinary engineering and design team responsible for developing complex electrical infrastructure projects through the early planning and pre-construction stages.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys combining technical expertise with team leadership, working closely with estimating, procurement, project management and commercial teams to ensure projects are technically sound, commercially viable and ready for execution.

Role

\n
As the Project Development Team Lead, you'll be responsible for leading engineers and designers as they develop the technical basis for major infrastructure projects. Rather than focusing solely on detailed design, you'll oversee the development of project concepts, review technical deliverables, coordinate across departments and ensure projects are fully defined before construction be gins. You'll play a key role in ensuring projects are accurate, buildable and delivered to a consistently high technical standard

Key Responsibilities

- Lead and manage a multidisciplinary engineering and design team
- Plan workloads, allocate resources and ensure project deadlines are achieved
- Review engineering deliverables, conceptual designs and technical documentation for quality, accuracy and constructability
- Support the development of project scopes, bills of materials, specifications and early engineering packages
- Work closely with Estimating, Procurement, Project Management and Sales throughout the proposal and pre-construction process
- Identify technical risks, design assumptions and scope gaps before projects move into delivery
- Drive consistency by implementing engineering standards, processes and best practices
- Mentor and develop engineers and designers, providing technical guidance and leadership.

What We're Looking For
\n
- \n
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline
- Approximately 5-8+ years of engineering experience within electrical infrastructure, industrial, power or EPC environments
- Previous experience leading engineering teams or mentoring technical staff
- Strong understanding of conceptual engineering, pre-construction or project development
- Experience reviewing engineering deliverables and ensuring technical quality
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to coordinate multiple projects and priorities within a fast-paced environment
