TITLE: Teradata DBA

Location: Plano, TX

Pay Rate: $60-$65/hour

Duration: 12-Month Contract-to-Hire

About the Opportunity

Insight Global is seeking an experienced Teradata DBA to support a large enterprise data warehouse environment across multiple lines of business. This individual will be a key member of the Database Administration team, helping maintain the performance, stability, and availability of critical Teradata platforms. The ideal candidate will bring deep Teradata administration experience, strong troubleshooting skills, and the ability to support production environments while partnering with application and infrastructure teams.

Must-Have Qualifications

• 10+ years of Teradata DBA experience (V17.20 or higher)

• Advanced knowledge of Teradata RDBMS at both physical and logical levels

• Strong experience with Teradata tools including Teradata Studio, TDWM, BTEQ, ARCMAIN, FASTLOAD, MLOAD, TPUMP, TPT, DBQL, and PDCR

• Experience supporting Teradata production environments and providing operational support

• Experience with database performance tuning, troubleshooting, and issue resolution

• Experience supporting database deployments, upgrades, backup/recovery, and disaster recovery initiatives

• Experience with security administration, access management, and database change implementation

• Strong documentation, communication, and problem-solving skills

Nice-to-Have Qualifications

• Viewpoint, Data Mover, or Teradata BAR experience

• Unix/Linux scripting experience (Bash, KSH, Perl)

• Mainframe experience including JCL, TSO, ISPF, TDP, or NDM

Position Overview

As a Teradata DBA, you will support enterprise Teradata environments across development, UAT, disaster recovery, and production systems. Responsibilities include database administration, change implementation, performance tuning, troubleshooting, backup and recovery support, access management, production issue resolution, and on-call support. You will partner closely with application teams to support database changes, assist with automation initiatives, maintain operational documentation, and ensure the overall reliability and performance of the organization's Teradata data warehouse environment. This role requires strong technical expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced enterprise environment.
