We are seeking a Senior Scrum Master to lead Agile software development teams supporting mission-critical government programs. This position is ideal for a seasoned Agile practitioner with 10–15 years of experience guiding cross-functional teams, particularly within Department of Defense or federal environments. The ideal candidate will be a certified Scrum Master with strong communication, leadership, and technical delivery skills, capable of driving Agile best practices in high-security, fast-paced environments.
Responsibilities:

Serve as Scrum Master for one or more Agile teams, facilitating sprint planning, stand-ups, retrospectives, and backlog grooming

Coach team members and stakeholders on Agile principles, values, and practices

Remove obstacles to team progress and promote a culture of continuous improvement and transparency

Collaborate with Product Owners, technical leads, and stakeholders to align priorities and ensure successful delivery of sprint goals

Support the implementation and scaling of Agile frameworks such as Scrum, SAFe, or hybrid models

Monitor team performance, track Agile metrics, and report progress to leadership and clients

Champion Agile methodologies across teams involving software development, systems integration, and cybersecurity

Utilize tools like GitLab, Jira, or Azure DevOps to support Agile workflows and CI/CD pipelines

Assist with roadmap planning, risk mitigation, and cross-team coordination
Must Have's:
-
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field

10–15 years of progressive experience in Agile project delivery and Scrum Master roles

In-depth knowledge of Agile principles, including hands-on experience with Scrum, Kanban, and scaled Agile environments

Certified Scrum Master (CSM), SAFe Scrum Master (SSM), or equivalent
-
Proven track record of leading technical teams and guiding projects in high-stakes, mission-driven settings
-
Exceptional communication, coaching, and facilitation skills
-
Experience with government or federal software and engineering programs

IAT Level II certification (Security+ or equivalent)
Nice to Have's:
-
Experience with GitLab (GTLB) or similar DevOps tools supporting Agile delivery

Experience as a Product Owner

SAFe Release Train Engineer (RTE) certification

Familiarity with Agile metrics such as velocity, burndown, and throughput

Experience in hybrid Agile/Waterfall environments and federal acquisition projects

Salary
$165,000 - $180,000 per year
