Job Description
Position Overview
The Oracle Fusion Product Specialist is an in-house technical and functional resource responsible for supporting, configuring, and continuously improving the company's Oracle Fusion Cloud ERP environment, with a primary focus on the Projects and Financials modules. This role serves as the day-to-day owner of project costing, budgeting, billing, and financial accounting processes within Oracle Fusion, translating the operational and reporting needs of project managers, controllers, and field/site teams into reliable system configuration and support. The ideal candidate combines solid Oracle Fusion module knowledge with an understanding of construction project accounting (job costing, WIP, subcontracts, change orders, and percentage-of-completion revenue recognition) to keep the ERP aligned with how the business actually builds and bills work.
Key Responsibilities
Configure, maintain, and support Oracle Fusion Cloud Projects and Financials modules, including Project Costing, Project Billing, Project Budgeting/Forecasting, General Ledger, Accounts Payable, and Accounts Receivable. Serve as first- and second-line support for end users (project accountants, project managers, controllers, field administrators), triaging and resolving functional issues, access requests, and data discrepancies. Partner with Finance and Operations to translate construction-specific requirements — job costing structures, cost codes, WIP schedules, subcontractor billing, retention, change orders, and percentage-of-completion revenue recognition — into Oracle Fusion configuration.
Test and validate quarterly Oracle Fusion patches and updates, assessing impact on Projects and Financials configurations, and coordinate regression testing with business users. Develop and maintain functional documentation, configuration workbooks, process flows, and end-user training materials/job aids. Deliver and support end-user training sessions for new hires and existing staff on Oracle Fusion Projects and Financials functionality.
Build and maintain reports and dashboards (OTBI/BI Publisher/Smart View) to support project financial reporting and management visibility into job performance. Identify opportunities for process improvement and system optimization, and contribute to the roadmap for future Oracle Fusion enhancements and module rollouts. Maintain data integrity and support internal controls, including access/security role reviews and SOX-related documentation as applicable.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, Construction Management, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience. 3–5 years of hands-on experience supporting or configuring Oracle Fusion Cloud ERP, with direct experience in the Projects and/or Financials modules. Working knowledge of construction industry accounting practices, including job costing, WIP reporting, percentage-of-completion revenue recognition, subcontractor management, and retainage. Demonstrated experience troubleshooting functional issues, managing configuration changes, and supporting month-end/period close cycles in an ERP environment. Familiarity with Oracle Fusion reporting tools such as OTBI, BI Publisher, or Smart View. Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate business requirements into system configuration and clear documentation. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to support both technical and non-technical (field/site) stakeholders.
