Salary: $100,000–$150,000 + Equity

Position Overview

\n

PTR Global is seeking a Network Operator for a direct-hire opportunity supporting a rapidly expanding AI data center environment. This role will serve as the on-site network and structured cabling specialist responsible for troubleshooting physical layer issues, supporting network infrastructure, and maintaining the reliability of high-density AI environments.

\n

Working closely with Network Operations, Infrastructure Deployment, and Data Center Operations teams, the Network Operator will own physical-layer issue resolution while serving as the escalation point for network and ICT-related incidents.

\n

Responsibilities

\n

    \n
  • Troubleshoot and resolve physical layer network issues within a data center environment.
  • \n

  • Perform structured cabling installation, repair, and remediation.
  • \n

  • Install, inspect, clean, test, and validate fiber optic infrastructure.
  • \n

  • Troubleshoot fiber faults, transceivers, patch panels, and cable plant issues.
  • \n

  • Validate repairs using optical power readings, LLDP neighbor relationships, and interface status.
  • \n

  • Perform rack-and-stack activities for network equipment and structured cabling.
  • \n

  • Support maintenance, deployments, and infrastructure upgrades.
  • \n

  • Document incidents and escalate complex issues to Network Operations with clear technical documentation.
  • \n

  • Maintain cable plant documentation and inventory records.
  • \n

  • Partner with Tier 1 technicians and cross-functional engineering teams to improve operational performance.
  • \n

Required Qualifications

\n

    \n
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience supporting data center network infrastructure.
  • \n

  • Experience with structured cabling, fiber optic infrastructure, and network hardware.
  • \n

  • Proficiency using fiber troubleshooting tools including:
  • \n

  • Visual Fault Locator (VFL)
  • \n

  • Optical Power Meter
  • \n

  • Fiber Inspection Scope
  • \n

  • Light Source
  • \n

  • Understanding of:
  • \n

  • Single-mode and multi-mode fiber
  • \n

  • Fiber connector standards
  • \n

  • Optical light levels
  • \n

  • Structured cabling best practices
  • \n

  • Ability to interpret interface status, optical power readings, and LLDP neighbor information.
  • \n

  • Strong troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills.
  • \n

  • Willingness to relocate to River Bend, Louisiana.
  • \n

  • BICSI Installer certification

  • CCNA or equivalent

  • Experience supporting GPU, HPC, or AI infrastructure
