Job DescriptionWe are looking for a dynamic Manager of Applications Development to lead and oversee a team of detail oriented individuals in West Des Moines, Iowa. In this contract-to-permanent position, you will play a pivotal role in driving the development, implementation, and maintenance of systems and applications that align with organizational goals. The ideal candidate will combine technical expertise with strong leadership skills to manage complex projects and guide the team toward achieving high-quality results.

Responsibilities:
• Oversee and manage a team of detail oriented individuals, including recruitment, performance evaluations, task assignments, and day-to-day leadership responsibilities.
• Analyze and resolve complex business and system issues while ensuring system functionality and reliability.
• Design functional components of systems and define scope, objectives, and deliverables to meet business requirements.
• Collaborate with Enterprise Architects to develop advanced technology configurations and manage project plans for intricate systems.
• Maintain and update existing programs, ensuring adherence to company standards for coding, testing, and documentation.
• Lead the integration of new systems and propose innovative technology solutions to enhance business processes.
• Provide mentorship and coaching to team members, fostering detail oriented growth and aligning with organizational values and strategies.
• Conduct research to stay updated on emerging technologies and ensure high-quality implementation of software and hardware solutions.
• Apply Lean-Agile principles to enhance application development and design processes.
• Proactively identify and address challenges to improve operational efficiency and project outcomes.

• Minimum of 7 years of experience in application development OR people leadership roles.

• Proficiency in .NET, ASP.NET, and C# programming languages. (Doesn't have to be a developer but understands development)

• Strong knowledge of Agile Scrum methodologies and Agile software development practices.

• Proven ability to mentor and develop new hires, fostering leadership and team-building skills.

• Demonstrated expertise in managing people and driving organizational growth initiatives.

• Advanced problem-solving skills and the ability to address complex technical challenges.

• Familiarity with Lean-Agile principles and their application in development environments.

• Excellent communication and relationship management skills to collaborate effectively across teams.
