The Server-Shift Manager plays a crucial role in overseeing daily restaurant operations, ensuring exceptional customer service, and managing a medium-sized team of 6 to 15 employees. Reporting directly to the General Manager, this role requires effective leadership, strong organizational skills, and a commitment to maintaining health and safety standards in a dynamic, variable shift environment.
Responsibilities
- Supervise shift activities and coordinate team efforts to meet operational goals
- Deliver excellent customer service and promptly address customer concerns
- Manage cash handling and reconcile transactions accurately
- Control inventory and assist with ordering and stock management
- Train and develop staff to uphold service standards and company policies
- Resolve conflicts among staff and customers efficiently and professionally
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
- Maintain quality assurance across all service areas
Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year experience in restaurant or hospitality management
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid Food Handlers Card
- Proven skills in customer service and staff supervision
- Strong conflict resolution and cash handling capabilities
- Knowledge of food safety standards and inventory management
- Excellent communication and team leadership abilities
- Familiarity with kitchen operations and experience taking and submitting weekly food orders
