Location: Prefer Chicago or Houston, but open to Remote for exceptional candidates

Duration: Through 6 + months with extension

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced AI Architect to lead the design and implementation of enterprise-scale AI, Generative AI, and Agentic AI solutions. This individual will be responsible for defining end-to-end architecture, technical standards, and best practices that enable secure, scalable, and reusable AI capabilities across the organization. The role will partner closely with business stakeholders, product teams, data scientists, and engineers to translate business opportunities into production-ready solutions. The ideal candidate has deep expertise in cloud architecture, large language models (LLMs), retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), AI agents, orchestration frameworks, APIs, and data integration patterns. They will provide technical leadership, conduct architecture reviews, and guide teams through complex design decisions while ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture, security, and governance requirements. Experience building multi-agent systems, autonomous workflows, and AI-powered applications in Azure or comparable cloud platforms is strongly preferred. The successful candidate will combine hands-on technical depth with strong communication skills and the ability to influence technical and business leaders at all levels. This role is critical to accelerating the organization's AI strategy and delivering innovative, business-focused solutions at scale., business-focused solutions at scale.

Top Must-Have Skill sets

We're looking for a strong architect who can help establish the technical foundation and standards for multiple AI Pods while accelerating delivery of strategic AI capabilities across the organization.

7+ years of enterprise solution architecture experience.
Strong experience with AI/ML and Generative AI solutions ability prove hand on use case development/ leadership experience
Experience designing cloud-native applications
Experience with LLMs, RAG architectures, vector databases, and AI orchestration frameworks.
API and microservices architecture experience.
Experience building Agentic AI frameworks
Strong understanding of data architecture and integration patterns.
Experience working with cross-functional business and technology teams.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Additional education, certifications, and/or licenses
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field required.
Master's degree preferred.
Azure, Cloud Architecture, AI/ML, or Enterprise Architecture certifications are desirable but not required

Nice-to-Have Skillsets

Experience delivering AI solutions at enterprise scale.
Airline, transportation, operations, or finance domain experience.
Experience establishing architecture standards and operating models for AI delivery teams.

Are there any other key project details that suppliers should know?

Define end-to-end solution architecture for GenAI and AI-powered applications.
Partner with product owners, business stakeholders, data scientists, engineers, and security teams to design scalable AI solutions.
Establish AI architecture standards, patterns, and best practices across the AI Pods.
Lead technical design reviews and provide architectural guidance to delivery teams.
Evaluate AI technologies, platforms, and integration approaches.
Support roadmap development, estimation, and technical planning.
Ensure solutions align with enterprise architecture, security, and governance requirements.
Mentor development teams and help resolve complex technical challenges.

Preferred working hours

8:00 AM - 5:00 PM CT, with flexibility as needed to support key meetings and project milestones.

Will travel be required? If yes, what is the percentage of travel?

Minimal travel expected (?10%), primarily for key planning sessions or stakeholder workshops if needed.
