Position Details:

Location: Irvine, CA
Status: Full-Time, Salaried

Pay Range: $120k - $150k + Full Benefits Package


Primary Objectives of Position:

The Senior Project Engineer will oversee all aspects of construction projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the specified quality standards. This role requires strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills to manage teams and coordinate with various stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.


Major Areas of Accountability:

  • Lead and manage construction projects from initiation to completion.
  • Develop project plans, budgets, and timelines in collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Supervise construction teams, contractors, and subcontractors to ensure project specifications are met.
  • Conduct regular site inspections and meetings to monitor progress and address any issues.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and quality standards.
  • Prepare and present project reports to management and other stakeholders.
  • Supervise and mentor junior engineering staff, providing guidance on best practices and technical expertise.
  • Manage project budgets, including estimating costs, tracking expenditures, and ensuring financial targets are met.
  • Coordinate with architects, contractors, and clients to ensure that project specifications and timelines are adhered to.
  • Conduct site inspections to monitor progress, ensure compliance with safety regulations, and address any issues that arise.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, ensuring that all phases of construction are completed efficiently and effectively.
  • Oversee the procurement of materials and equipment, managing inventory and ensuring timely delivery to the job site.
  • Prepare and present regular reports on project status, including progress updates and financial summaries for stakeholders.
  • Implement quality control measures to ensure that work meets the required standards and specifications.
  • Facilitate communication between project teams and stakeholders to ensure alignment and address any concerns promptly.
  • Lead problem-solving efforts, identifying and addressing challenges that may impact project timelines or quality.
  • Evaluate and recommend solutions for unforeseen challenges that may arise during construction
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Level of Education, Experience and Skill Set:

  • 6+ years of experience in design and/or construction, with knowledge of residential multi-family and/or affordable housing preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or equivalent experience
  • Strong understanding of construction terminology, sequencing, blueprints, and project specifications
  • Proven ability to take initiative, manage multiple tasks, stay organized, and meet deadlines with strong attention to detail
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment
  • Effective problem-solving skills and a strong sense of urgency
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Project; familiarity with online project management software is a plus
  • Valid California driver’s license and access to an insured vehicle for travel throughout the California service area
  • Position may require some evening and weekend hours



Physical Demands:

The Sr. Project Engineer, Construction is required to talk and hear. The employee is often required to sit and use their hands and fingers to handle, feel, and implement. The employee is also required to stand, walk, reach with arms and hands, climb stairs, climb ladders, balance, twist, lean, move from one location to another and to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Vision abilities required by this position include close and far vision, with exposure to glare from a computer and outside site observations. Employee shall have the ability to operate a computer keyboard and traverse construction jobsites. Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs. and travel via automobile and/or plane 50%. Work Environment:

The work environment will usually be in a professional office setting, with possible shared workspace. The noise level is usually quiet to moderate. When traveling or on-site, the environment may change dependent upon potential construction activity taking place and can often be moderately loud.
