Job Title: Exchange Online Administrator / Service Engineer

Location: Seattle WA 98109 1-2 days Onsite (needs to be local in Seattle)

Scope of Work

\n

The Exchange Online Administrator / Service Engineer will be responsible for the design, implementation, administration, security, optimization, and operational support of Microsoft Exchange Online within the Microsoft 365 environment.

\n

The role requires strong hands-on experience in Exchange Online service engineering, including tenant-level configuration, mail flow, security controls, identity integration, migrations, troubleshooting, automation, and implementation of security projects across the Exchange Online platform.

\n

The resource will work closely with Microsoft 365, Identity & Access Management, Security, Compliance, Network, and Infrastructure teams to ensure a secure, highly available, and well-governed messaging environment.

\n


\n

Key Responsibilities

\n

1. Design, implement, configure, and administer Microsoft Exchange Online services.

\n

2. Provide L3/SME-level service engineering for Exchange Online issues, incidents, and complex service requests.

\n

3. Manage Exchange Online configuration, including:

\n

a. Mail flow and transport rules

\n

b. Connectors

\n

c. Accepted domains

\n

d. Remote domains

\n

e. Distribution groups and shared mailboxes

\n

f. Resource mailboxes

\n

g. Retention and mailbox policies

\n

h. Exchange Online permissions and delegation

\n

4. Engineer and implement Exchange Online security controls, including:

\n

a. Anti-spam and anti-phishing controls

\n

b. Microsoft Defender for Office 365 integration

\n

c. Safe Links and Safe Attachments

\n

d. Impersonation and spoofing protection

\n

e. Mail flow security

\n

f. Authentication and modern authentication controls

\n

g. SPF, DKIM, and DMARC

\n

5. Lead or participate in security implementation projects related to Exchange Online and Microsoft 365.

\n

6. Troubleshoot complex mail-flow, authentication, delivery, and Exchange Online service issues.

\n

7. Monitor Exchange Online service health, message flow, security events, and operational performance.

\n

8. Work with Microsoft support on complex service incidents and product-related issues.

\n

9. Develop operational procedures, technical documentation, runbooks, and knowledge articles.

\n

10. Participate in change management, implementation planning, testing, and production deployment.

\n

11. Implement Microsoft 365 security and compliance controls in partnership with security and compliance teams.

\n

12. Support governance and lifecycle management for Exchange Online services.

\n
