Role Description The Event and Development Assistant is a full-time, on-site role based in Paramus, NJ. This role supports the planning and execution of fundraising events, community programs, and donor engagement activities, including coordinating logistics, maintaining event timelines, and preparing materials. The assistant helps manage donor and participant information, processes registrations and RSVPs, and assists with follow-up communications and stewardship activities. Daily responsibilities include providing administrative support to the development team, scheduling meetings, preparing reports, and assisting with research on donors and prospects. The role also involves collaborating with staff and volunteers to ensure events run smoothly and align with organizational goals.

Qualifications

  • Strong communication skills, including clear written and verbal communication and the ability to interact professionally with donors, volunteers, and colleagues.
  • \n

  • Administrative assistance skills, including organizing schedules, managing documentation, and maintaining accurate records.
  • \n

  • Analytical skills to interpret data, track event and fundraising metrics, and support decision-making.
  • \n

  • Research skills to gather information on prospects, community trends, and best practices in events and development.
  • \n

  • Project management skills to coordinate multiple events and tasks, meet deadlines, and handle competing priorities.
  • \n

  • Proficiency with office productivity tools and CRM or donor management systems is preferred.
  • \n

  • Ability to work collaboratively in an on-site team environment and occasionally support events outside standard business hours.
  • \n

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in nonprofit management, communications, marketing, or a related field is beneficial; prior experience in events, fundraising, or community organizations is a plus.

This position requires in-office work with a remote day generally on Fridays.
