Business-process owners define operational requirements and maintain business-owned manufacturing configuration and data; this role evaluates technical impact and implements secure, supportable system solutions.
Primary Responsibilities
- Administer Epicor Kinetic environments, including application servers, task agents, application pools, schedulers, background processes, and related system services
- Manage the Epicor user lifecycle, security groups, menu access, field-level security, plant/site permissions, functional roles, and segregation-of-duties controls in accordance with company policy and compliance requirements
- Plan, test, document, and execute Epicor upgrades, patches, hotfixes, environment refreshes, and deployments across development, test, and production environments using formal change-control practices
- Develop and maintain technically appropriate Epicor solutions, including BAQs, BPMs, method and data directives, dashboards, reports, integrations, and approved customizations
- Support SQL Server performance and reliability through query analysis, index and performance tuning, backup/restore coordination, data investigation, and troubleshooting within established IT controls
- Monitor system performance, availability, logs, interfaces, scheduled processes, and integrations; diagnose issues and coordinate resolution with internal teams and outside support partners
- Automate repeatable administrative and support tasks using PowerShell, SQL, Epicor tools, APIs, or other approved technologies
- Maintain technical documentation for environments, configurations, security, interfaces, customizations, recovery procedures, change history, and support processes
- Apply Epicor best practices for configuration, favoring standard functionality and sustainable, low-maintenance solutions over unnecessary customization
- Provide advanced technical support, root-cause analysis, and guidance to users and functional subject-matter experts without assuming ownership of their business processes or data
Cross-Functional Partnership and Role Boundaries
- Work with Manufacturing Configuration Control as the functional owner of manufacturing configuration, methods of manufacture, operational master data, and related manufacturing-system processes
- Translate approved functional requirements into technical designs; advise on feasibility, security, performance, integration, testing, and long-term supportability
- Coordinate testing and deployment with the requesting business owner; functional owners validate process requirements and business results, while IT validates technical operation, security, and system impact
- Partner with Finance, Operations, Quality, Engineering, Supply Chain, and other departments while keeping business-process decisions and transactional data ownership with the appropriate functional team
