About the role:

The Support Desk Technician will be the first line of technical support for Rhone’s corporate office, remote employees, and retail store locations. This role is vital in addressing end-user technology needs, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring the smooth operation of IT systems. Additionally, the technician will support the deployment of technology and assist in managing IT aspects of new store openings and remodels. The ideal candidate will have strong problem-solving skills, a customer-first attitude, and a willingness to grow within the IT field.

Key Responsibilities:

End-User Support:

  • Act as the first point of contact for IT support requests from corporate, remote, and retail store employees.

  • Provide technical assistance for hardware, software, networking, and peripheral devices.

  • Respond to and resolve tickets in a timely manner, escalating issues as needed.

  • Assist with troubleshooting Point of Sale (POS) systems, back-office applications, and store networks and hardware.

  • Deliver excellent customer service by ensuring clear communication and timely updates to users.

Technology Deployment:

  • Assist in the deployment and configuration of technology for new store openings, remodels, and relocations.

  • Set up and maintain workstations/laptops, mobile devices, and store IT equipment.

  • Work closely with the IT team to ensure the proper installation and testing of hardware and software.

Operational Support:

  • Document common issues and solutions to contribute to the IT knowledge base.

  • Maintain accurate inventory of IT equipment at corporate, remote, and store locations.

  • Support IT onboarding by assisting in workstation setups and providing basic IT orientation to new employees.

  • Monitor IT systems and report potential issues to the Technical Support Specialist.

Hardware and Software Maintenance:

  • Perform routine maintenance on hardware, such as computers, printers, and POS devices.

  • Assist in the management of software licenses and user access, including troubleshooting issues related to SaaS platforms.

  • Follow IT policies and procedures to ensure security and compliance standards are met.

Qualifications:

  • 1-2 years of experience in an IT support or Support Desk role, preferably in a retail or consumer product environment.

  • Basic understanding of IT hardware, software, and networking concepts.

  • Experience with troubleshooting Windows, macOS, and mobile devices.

  • Familiarity with Point of Sale (POS) systems and related technologies (preferred).

  • Strong customer service skills and the ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical users.

  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new tools, technologies, and processes.

  • Organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
