Onsite Technical Lead – Vertica to SingleStore Migration

Role Summary
We are seeking an experienced Onsite Technical Lead to lead and execute a large-scale Vertica to SingleStore migration initiative. This role will be responsible for end-to-end technical ownership, including migration strategy, data modeling, performance optimization, and production stability, while serving as the primary onsite technical interface between business stakeholders and offshore delivery teams.
The ideal candidate brings deep hands-on expertise in SingleStore, MPP database design, SQL performance tuning, and data platform modernization, along with proven experience leading complex enterprise data migrations.
Required Skills & Experience
Core Technical Skills:
Strong hands-on experience with SingleStore:
Data modeling (rowstore, columnstore, reference tables)
Sharding and distribution strategies
SQL performance tuning and query optimization
Prior experience migrating from Vertica or other MPP/legacy data warehouses.
Advanced SQL and database design expertise for analytical workloads.
Experience with Spark (Scala/Python) for large-scale data processing.
Leadership & Communication:
Proven experience as a Technical Lead or SME on complex data platform initiatives.
Strong client-facing skills with the ability to explain technical trade-offs clearly.
Experience leading teams, handling escalations, and driving delivery under tight SLAs.
