Job Title:
Prompt Engineer
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, test, and iterate high-quality prompts for LLM-powered features (chatbots, copilots, automation, content generation).
- Translate business requirements into clear prompt specifications, workflows, and evaluation criteria.
- Build prompt libraries and reusable templates for consistent output quality and brand alignment.
- Develop and run prompt evaluation/testing (quality, accuracy, safety, and hallucination checks) and document results.
- Collaborate with product, engineering, and data teams to integrate prompts into production systems and improve performance over time.
Required Skills:
- Strong expertise in prompt engineering techniques (zero-shot, few-shot, chain-of-thought variants, tool/agent prompting).
- Proficiency with LLMs and model behavior (including understanding of limitations and common failure modes).
- Experience with evaluating LLM outputs (rubrics, test sets, A/B testing, metrics).
- Ability to write clear, structured prompts and system instructions; excellent attention to detail.
- Familiarity with API-based LLM integration and basic scripting for prompt workflows (Python/JavaScript preferred).
- Knowledge of safety and responsible AI practices (prompt injection awareness, content moderation considerations).
Qualification:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Demonstrable experience building LLM prompt workflows (portfolio, case studies, or projects).
- Understanding of machine learning/AI concepts and evaluation fundamentals.
