We are looking for an IT Support Technician to provide dependable technical assistance for workstation hardware, software, and end-user support needs in Tallahassee, Florida. This Long-term Contract position is ideal for someone who can resolve a wide range of technical issues, guide users through effective solutions, and contribute to a collaborative support environment. The role supports daily operations through troubleshooting, documentation, and service coordination while helping improve issue resolution practices. You will also assist with specialized application support and provide audio visual and video conferencing assistance as needed.
Responsibilities:
• Deliver hands-on support for desktop hardware, software applications, and related workstation technology to maintain reliable day-to-day operations.
• Advise end users on the effective use of systems and applications, offering practical guidance and informal instruction when needed.
• Investigate service issues by identifying symptoms, diagnosing underlying causes, and restoring normal functionality through established support methods.
• Perform deeper analysis on recurring incidents, document findings, and create support checklists that help streamline future resolutions.
• Suggest preventive measures and support controls that reduce repeat issues and improve service quality over time.
• Keep incident records, knowledge resources, and tracking documentation accurate and current to strengthen troubleshooting efficiency.
• Handle Tier 2 support requests of moderate to high complexity, taking ownership of issues through resolution or appropriate coordination.
• Install, configure, and support workstation equipment and software, monitor assigned service requests, and manage follow-up actions as required.
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation, coordinate repair activities for covered and non-covered equipment, and support service call management.
• Provide audio visual and video conferencing support, including equipment setup, reservation assistance, and troubleshooting during use.
• Two years of experience supporting workstation hardware installation, maintenance, and technical troubleshooting, or equivalent relevant background.
• Alternatively, two years of experience delivering customer-facing technical support for Microsoft Office 365 and Windows OS.
• An associate or bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a closely related discipline from an accredited institution may be accepted.
• Relevant technical certifications, such as CompTIA A+ or comparable workstation support credentials, may substitute for a portion of the required experience.
• Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot computer systems, diagnose technical issues, and resolve support requests in a structured service environment.
• Experience working with service desk tools, ticket queues, technical documentation, and knowledge base maintenance.
• Ability to communicate clearly with users, provide training or guidance, and work effectively with team members on shared support activities.
