JOB TITLE: DATA ARCHITECT – ARCHITECT STANDARD 3

PROJECT: DATA AND ANALYTICS MODERNIZATION
LOCATION: WASHINGTON, DC (HQ)

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Data Architect (Architect Standard 3) to support the Data and Analytics Modernization initiative. The selected candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing enterprise data architecture solutions that enable scalable analytics, reporting, and data-driven decision-making.

This role requires strong expertise in enterprise data architecture, cloud platforms, data governance, and modern analytics ecosystems.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement enterprise-wide data architecture frameworks
• Define data models (conceptual, logical, and physical) to support business and analytics needs
• Lead data modernization efforts including cloud migration and legacy system transformation
• Architect scalable data pipelines and integration solutions
• Establish and enforce data governance, data quality, and metadata management standards
• Design and oversee data warehousing and data lake solutions
• Collaborate with business stakeholders, data engineers, analysts, and leadership teams
• Ensure compliance with federal data standards, security, and privacy requirements
• Provide technical leadership and mentoring to development teams

Required Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in data architecture or enterprise data solutions
• Strong experience in:
  • Data modeling (ER modeling, dimensional modeling)
  • Data warehousing and data lake architectures
  • ETL/ELT frameworks
  • Data integration and API-based architectures
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as:
  • AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
• Experience with modern data tools (e.g., Snowflake, Redshift, Databricks, Synapse, etc.)
• Strong SQL expertise
• Experience with data governance and master data management (MDM)
• Understanding of data security, compliance, and access control frameworks
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
