About The Role

Our firm is partnering with a leading North American distribution and logistics organization to identify a Building Automation and Controls Manager. This position will provide strategic leadership for building automation systems and HVAC controls across a large, multi-site facilities portfolio. The ideal candidate will combine technical expertise in Building Automation Systems (BAS) with strong people leadership skills to drive operational efficiency, system reliability, cybersecurity compliance, and continuous improvement initiatives across a growing network of facilities.\n

Job Description

As the Building Automation and Controls Manager, you will lead the design, optimization, and long-term strategy for HVAC controls and Building Automation Systems across more than 50 facilities. You will oversee a team of Building Systems Engineers and collaborate with operations, facilities, and construction stakeholders to enhance building performance and support organizational growth.\n

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design, implementation, and optimization of HVAC controls and Building Automation Systems (BAS) across a large multi-site portfolio.

\n

• Manage, mentor, and develop a team of Building Systems Engineers, ensuring performance objectives and operational standards are achieved.

\n

• Oversee BAS programming, system upgrades, maintenance initiatives, and enterprise-wide controls standards.

\n

• Support and enforce cybersecurity policies, system governance, and best practices for building automation infrastructure.

\n

• Partner with Operations, Facilities, Engineering, and Construction teams to identify opportunities for improved building performance, energy efficiency, and automation.

\n

• Drive continuous improvement initiatives related to controls, monitoring, and facility operations.

\n

• Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend solutions that enhance reliability, efficiency, and scalability.

Qualifications

Required

\n

\n
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field.

\n

• 7+ years of experience working with Building Automation Systems (BAS), including BAS programming and controls implementation.

\n

• Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, controls, and building automation technologies.

\n

• Experience leading projects, programs, or teams within facilities, automation, or building systems environments.

\n

• Understanding of building systems lifecycle management, maintenance practices, and operational performance metrics.

\n

• Ability to travel to locations across North America as needed.

\n

• Strong communication, problem-solving, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

• Master's degree in Engineering or a related field.

\n

• Experience managing technical engineering or building systems teams.

\n

• Knowledge of cybersecurity principles related to building automation and industrial control systems.

\n

• Experience supporting large-scale, multi-site distribution, manufacturing, or industrial facilities.

\n

• Familiarity with energy efficiency initiatives, system optimization strategies, and smart building technologies.
