Genesis10 is currently seeking a PC Deployment & Migration Technician for a contract to hire position with an enterprise organization located in Glenmont, NY. This is a 6+ month contract opportunity.
Compensation: $28.00 - $32.00 per hour, W2, based on qualifications
Position Overview:
The PC Deployment & Migration Technician supports enterprise workstation migration and device deployment initiatives. This role is responsible for preparing, deploying, configuring, validating, and supporting laptops, desktop computers, peripherals, and related end-user technology. The technician will work directly with employees during migration events, workstation refreshes, and onboarding activities to ensure a smooth transition with minimal disruption to business operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deploy, configure, and support Windows laptops and desktop computers
- Perform workstation replacements and technology refresh activities
- Image, provision, configure, and validate new devices prior to deployment
- Migrate users to new laptops, including profile configuration, application setup, and connectivity verification
- Assist users with login issues, MFA enrollment, password resets, and workstation access
- Validate functionality of business applications after device deployment
- Support Microsoft 365, Outlook, Teams, OneDrive, and other enterprise productivity tools
- Coordinate hardware distribution, collection, shipping, asset tracking, and inventory management activities
- Document deployment activities, issues, and resolutions within ServiceNow or designated ticketing systems
- Provide white-glove support to end users during migration events and scheduled cutovers
- Assist with printer, peripheral, docking station, monitor, and mobile device setup
- Support office relocation and site migration initiatives
- Maintain accurate asset management records and chain-of-custody documentation
- Escalate technical issues to engineering, endpoint management, or infrastructure teams as required
- Participate in migration planning, staging, and hypercare support activities
Primary Requirements:
- 2+ years of desktop support, field services, deployment, or workplace technology experience
- Experience deploying Windows 10/11 workstations
- Experience supporting Microsoft 365 applications
- Knowledge of Active Directory, Azure AD/Entra ID, and multi-factor authentication
- Familiarity with laptop imaging, software deployment, and endpoint configuration
- Experience with ServiceNow or other ITSM platforms
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Ability to lift and move computer equipment up to 50 pounds
- Ability to travel between office locations as needed
Desired Skills:
- Experience supporting large-scale PC refresh or migration projects
- Experience with Microsoft Autopilot and Intune
- Knowledge of asset management and inventory control processes
- Experience supporting printer deployments and office technology rollouts
- CompTIA A+, Microsoft certifications, or equivalent experience
- Experience working in enterprise environments with 500+ users
