Senior Project Manager
Powers & Sons Construction is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead commercial construction projects in the Chicago market. This role requires strong leadership and the ability to manage multiple projects from preconstruction through closeout.
Responsibilities:
- Manage all aspects of commercial construction projects from award through completion
- Develop and maintain project budgets, schedules, and cash flow projections
- Coordinate with owners, architects, engineers, and subcontractors
- Review and negotiate subcontracts and change orders
- Conduct regular job site meetings and progress reviews
- Monitor project costs and implement corrective actions as needed
- Ensure quality control and compliance with contract documents
- Manage project team including assistant project managers and engineers
- Track and process submittals, RFIs, and change order requests
Requirements:
- 7+ years of commercial construction project management experience
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred
- Proven experience managing projects $10M+ in value
- Strong understanding of construction methods, sequencing, and scheduling
- Proficient in project management software (Procore, MS Project, or similar)
- Excellent contract administration and negotiation skills
- Strong financial acumen and budget management experience
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to job sites across the Chicago area
Preferred:
- Experience with ground-up commercial construction
- Background in hospitality, entertainment & gaming, or high rise experience preferred
- LEED accreditation or PMP certification
