Job Title: IT Support Specialist

Job Description

This long-term consulting opportunity (12 months+) offers the chance to join a high-performing IT support team within a thriving global firm. You will provide primarily phone-based and remote technical support to over 1,700 users, focusing on Windows 11, Microsoft Office, remote access tools, and mobile technologies. The role is initially fully onsite in Hudson Yards, working a 35-hour week from 10:00 to 18:00, with the potential to move to a hybrid arrangement after the first six months based on performance and business needs. High-performing consultants have previously transitioned to permanent roles with this firm.

Responsibilities

  • Provide first-line phone and remote support to over 1,700 users, resolving incidents and service requests in a timely and professional manner.
  • Handle approximately 90% of support interactions via phone, with around 10% involving in-person floor and desktop support.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Windows 11 operating systems, including user profiles, updates, and application compatibility.
  • Support Microsoft Office 2016 and Microsoft 365, including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and related productivity tools.
  • Assist users with Outlook and Exchange Online issues such as mailbox access, calendar sharing, email synchronisation, and performance problems.
  • Support remote access solutions including VPN connectivity, authentication issues, and user access to corporate resources.
  • Provide support for Citrix environments, including access issues, performance concerns, and application delivery problems.
  • Support mobile devices, including smartphones and tablets, ensuring correct configuration, connectivity, and security compliance.
  • Administer and troubleshoot mobile device management (MDM) solutions such as MobileIron and Intune, including device enrolment and policy enforcement.
  • Support Zoom for virtual meetings, including audio, video, and connectivity troubleshooting.
  • Provide assistance with the iManage document management system, including document access, filing, and search issues.
  • Use Ivanti as the ticketing and IT service management (ITSM) platform to log, track, update, and resolve incidents and service requests.
  • Take initial calls from end users, including those who may be frustrated or under pressure, and manage these interactions calmly and professionally.
  • Follow established procedures and knowledge articles to ensure consistent and accurate resolution of technical issues.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and escalate incidents when necessary to ensure timely resolution of complex problems.
  • Support users in a legal environment, understanding the urgency and sensitivity of their work and prioritising issues accordingly.
  • Maintain clear, concise, and accurate documentation of all support activities within the ticketing system.
  • Contribute to a high standard of customer service by communicating clearly, managing expectations, and following up with users where required.
  • Work onsite in Hudson Yards five days per week for at least the first six months, adhering to the scheduled hours of 10:00 to 18:00.

Essential Skills

  • At least 2–5 years of service desk support experience in a corporate environment.
  • Strong troubleshooting experience with Windows 11 operating systems.
  • Strong troubleshooting experience with Microsoft Office, including Office 2016 and Microsoft 365.
  • Experience supporting VPN solutions and resolving remote connectivity issues.
  • Experience supporting mobile devices such as smartphones and tablets in a corporate environment.
  • Experience with mobile device management (MDM) solutions, including MobileIron and Intune.
  • Experience taking initial calls from end users and providing first-line support.
  • Experience working with an IT ticketing or IT service management (ITSM) system, ideally Ivanti.
  • Ability to work effectively in a high-pressure legal environment.
  • Ability to work onsite full-time and adhere to a structured 35-hour work week.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience supporting Outlook and Exchange Online in a corporate environment.
  • Experience with Citrix-based environments and remote application delivery.
  • Experience supporting Zoom or similar video conferencing platforms.
  • Experience with iManage or other document management systems, particularly in a legal context.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to prioritise and manage multiple issues simultaneously.
  • A professional and calm approach when dealing with demanding or time-sensitive user requests.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of New York, NY.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $29.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
