Job Summary:
The IT Director is the key person responsible for all the software, systems, employee technology and data security within the company. This includes responsibility for ensuring that all systems are operational and meeting the needs of all departments and making their jobs as efficient as possible. The role will encompass systems selection, maintenance of integrations, and lifecycle management. The security element includes the responsibility for ensuring that all systems are secure, data and security policies are kept up to date and are implemented to the highest standards of compliance and protect against security threats such as virus attacks, data breaches, and cyber-criminal activities.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Small team of IT specialists: IT & Security Administrator, Business Analyst, and Data Analyst
Duties/Responsibilities:
- System and software maintenance
- Employee technology support including IT onboarding procedures.
- Enabling workflows, integrations, and automations.
- Research new solutions to meet new company needs.
- IT risk analysis & threat assessment.
- IT vendor management includes contract negotiations and security reviews.
- Budgeting for hardware and software and systems maintenance.
- Respond to customer security audits.
- Manage employee security training program.
- Mange penetration testing and vulnerability assessments.
- Respond to security incidents.
- Spearhead the company's IT security strategy (hardware, software, policy) and make sure necessary activities are undertaken by the appropriate departments.
- Develop the best practices for all aspects of data security, including physical, network, database, and application.
- Review and approve all technical designs and implementation plans to ensure compliance.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Proficient with Microsoft Office, MicroSoft Entra and related enterprise IT services.
- Experience with VMs, Windows, SaaS-based ERP systems and CRM applications.
- Knowledge of SOC 1 & 2 compliance.
- Strong understanding of network technologies.
- ISACA CISM Certification or other security certifications preferred.
- Excellent communication skills for non-technical users and all levels of the organization
- Ability to manage projects within budget and timeframe.
- Manage a cross-functional team, mentor, provide direction, and set priorities.
- Complete annual performance evaluations.
Education and Experience:
- BS in Computer Science or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum of 8-10 years’ experience as a manager or Director of IT in dynamic, mid-sized organization.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift 50lbs of computer equipment.
- Ability to sit at a computer for extended times and stand within a typical office environment
Additional Requirements:
- Reliable commuting distance to assigned work location.
- Occasional travel to Boston datacenter via automobile.
- Available for off-hours support, as required.
- Must work in the Westwood office.
