Job Title: Quality Technician

Pay: up to $34/hr

Location: East Mesa

Responsibilities

  • Conduct coaching conversations and develop performance plans to strengthen team capabilities and accountability.
  • Teach and coach inspectors on quality control processes, standards, and best practices.
  • Perform and supervise quality control processes for in-process and final inspection of parts, subassemblies, and finished units.
  • Confirm product accuracy and conformance based on blueprints, technical drawings, and project specifications.
  • Mentor and train less experienced inspectors, offering guidance and feedback to improve their technical skills and judgment.
  • Maintain inspection equipment, ensuring it remains calibrated, functional, and in optimal working condition.
  • Work closely with leadership, engineers, and other trades to ensure products meet specifications, schedules, and production timelines.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards, codes, and regulations at all times on the shop floor.
  • Follow lean manufacturing guidelines and provide continuous improvement suggestions to increase efficiency and reduce waste.
  • Support and uphold standard operating procedures (SOPs) related to quality control and assurance.
  • Promote a culture of quality, accountability, and teamwork within the inspection group and across the wider production environment.

Essential Skills

  • At least 5+ years of experience in quality control (QC).
  • Ability to read and interpret complex technical drawings, blueprints, and welding specifications.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities with a high level of attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to provide clear direction and constructive feedback.
  • Strong teamwork skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with leadership, engineers, and other trades.
  • Experience with quality control and quality assurance methodologies.
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement practices.
  • Ability to follow and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs) related to quality.
  • Good manual dexterity and multi-limb coordination to perform detailed inspection tasks.
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 35 pounds as needed.
  • Ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, or crouch as required to perform inspections.
  • Ability to climb portable ladders safely as needed in the work area.

Work Environment

This role is based in a modern, state-of-the-art manufacturing facility equipped with industry 4.0 technology and air-conditioned production areas. There are three openings: one on the first shift and two on the second shift. The first shift operates Monday through Thursday from 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with the possibility of mandatory work on Fridays to meet production deadlines. The second shift operates Monday through Thursday from 5:00 p.m. to 3:30 a.m., also with the possibility of mandatory work on Fridays to support production needs, and requires initial training on the first shift. The facility emphasizes safety and requires the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as part of daily operations. The physical environment involves standing and walking for extended periods, as well as stooping, kneeling, crouching, and climbing portable ladders when necessary. Team members must be able to lift and move up to 35 pounds and perform tasks that require good manual dexterity and multi-limb coordination. This is a Permanent position based out of Mesa, AZ.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $26.00 - $33.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
